| Original text | Ηταν ικανοί να πληρώσουν όλα τους τα χρήματα κι ας μην είχαν την επομένη να φάνε. Εκείνη την προπολεμική εποχή οι οργανοπαίκτες πληρώνονταν και με είδος, για παράδειγμα τόσα καντάρια σμυρίγλι ή τόσα δεμάτια σανό. |
| English translation | They were able to pay all the money even if it meant they wouldn't eat the next day. In the prewar times musicians were paid with the type of the instruments they played. |
